SPIRITUAL HEALING
Spiritual healing begins with the recognition of wholeness, which is to say that a living being is a whole entity fundamentally consisting of layers of energy. Some of the energetic layers are dense and visible to our human eyes, such as the material body, and other layers are more like light. Modern physics is revealing that our bodies, thoughts, feelings, and inspirations all exhibit states which can be measured. When we are dis-eased, the states of our bodies, which include the brain, and of our thoughts, emotions, and feelings, have become disordered in some way. The coherence of the energy of which we are made up has become disturbed.
In spiritual healing, the healer does not intervene, unlike in the work of biomedical practitioners such as physicians and psychiatrists. Rather, the healer accompanies the client, him- or herself having learnt to maintain a coherent presence and to read the states of the client. In the presence of an energetically coherent healer, who is willing to be with and hold the state of a person who is suffering, the states of the distressed client return to coherence. This begins to happen in the moment and over time.
I perform my healing services in the name of the Living God and by the grace of the Holy Spirit which suffuses all of Creation. You do not have to be a Christian to receive my services but it may help you to know what my spirit and intent as a healer is: it is love, and I believe that your existence itself proves that Someone in the Universe already loves you. You will feel encouraged to move through your life with more trust in the gifts you have already been given.

FAMILY THERAPY
Family Therapy is the practice of helping a family system to regain its balance as an entity that is meant to support, nurture, and encourage everyone who is a part of that system. There are many types of families in the cultures of the world, and many of these varieties now exist in the US as well. Ideally, when a family is having difficulty, everyone who is a part of that particular system would benefit from attending therapy sessions together, but this is often not possible in today’s hectic world. However, even one or two members who attend can bring potentially useful change ideas home and precipitate a new way of being together that brings harmony and healing.
Family Therapy recognizes that every behavior, intention, and thought has an impact on the people around us. By understanding what each person in a family system needs and wants in order to thrive, change can be directed toward achieving mutual respect, patience, humor, and affection. Under these conditions, everyone in the family system benefits and grows into maturity, which in turn benefits neighborhoods and communities. When families are doing well, the world becomes a better place.

COUNSELING
Counseling differs from psychotherapy in that it can include a more directive approach. This means that the psychotherapist who is also a counselor, like myself, not only listens and helps the client understand the origin of their difficulties and distress, but may also make suggestions as to how to make the changes that could alleviate the suffering. As a trained Adlerian counselor, I recognize that people are motivated in their behavior; that is, behavior is not random but has a purpose, one of which a person may not be aware.
In my role as a counselor, I am trained to help you recognize possible sources of your difficulties and can make suggestions or referrals to assist you in living more healthfully, meaningfully, and joyfully. My competencies include wellness, spiritual direction, and family guidance. Based on these modalities, you can create a new direction for living the life of which you have dreamed.
